Fire detection is a fundamental element in the fire prevention process. The aim of any fire detection system is to detect a fire at the earliest possible stage. The system generates an alarm signal when at least one of the combustion components – smoke, flame, or heat – is present. Depending on the fire risk and the specific application, the fire detection systems that we design and install are of two types – conventional and addressable.
- The detectors and other peripheral devices of addressable systems are arranged in a loop along a cable line that starts and ends at the control panel. This allows for full recognition of devices by individual address. Addressable systems precisely locate the source of a fire by the address of the detector in alarm, and are more suitable for large sites such as shopping centres, administrative buildings, educational institutions, hospitals and others.
- Conventional systems detect fires and signal them, but do not locate their source with absolute accuracy. Due to this specific characteristic, this type of system is suitable for smaller premises where it is possible to quickly survey the alarm zone and locate the fire.
Regardless of the system type, fire alarm control panels have an easy and intuitive user interface. This allows the responsible site safety personnel to react immediately and take the correct actions in the event of an alarm.
